xThe Role
The London Foundational Applications group is seeking a driven and dedicated developer to join our fast-paced team.
You will use your C++, Javascript and UNIX skills in a multi-threaded environment to provide value-added data and analytical functionality on the Bloomberg Terminal for Traders and Salespeople. Your work will impact tens of thousands of clients a day, working on high performance servers which handle millions of updates daily and publish hundreds of thousands of analytic items.
The team is responsible for all aspects of two popular functions: market data alerts and custom indices. Using your interest in solving business problems will be imperative for this role as well as your desire to take on responsibility and work across all phases of the software development lifecycle. You will be involved in many aspects of development including functional specification, user interface design, backend server development, coding and testing.
Requirements
- Strong C/C++ and excellent problem solving skills are required
- Experience with multi-threaded programming advantageous
- Knowledge of programming with UNIX is desirable
- Finance experience not essential
