As an integral part of SSgA's Global Defined Contribution Team, the UK DC Strategist will work to ensure a superior product offering and client support versus other DC investment managers. Specifically, working in partnership with SSgA's Institutional Client Group (ICG), you will drive adoption of SSgA funds and strategies within DC plan line-ups, platforms and investment consultant buy-lists.  As a member of the DC Investment Strategy Team, you will use your investment, sales, and entrepreneurial skills to create analysis, sales ideas, support materials and messaging, highlighting the value of our offerings. In addition to supporting the sales process, the Investment Strategist plays a key role in improving upon and expanding our DC investment offerings through ongoing research and development.

Growing and supporting our UK Defined Contribution business is a key initiative for SSgA.  In this role you will be working within a high-functioning, fast-paced team environment. 

 Job Description and responsibilities

• Working closely with UK product and distribution, as well as the Global SSgA DC effort, to help grow SSgAs UK DC business through a superior product and support offering


• Help build strong internal and external relationships, notably DC research, distribution, operations, and external clients, consultants, and industry organizations


• Become internal expert on SSgA DC funds and broad level DC issues


• Understand and differentiate against competitive products


• Help and assist in the development of insightful proprietary research that can be leveraged across the client base in the form of white papers, presentations and seminars, working closely with the Global DC team


• Develop the right positioning across SSgA DC products and the right collateral and product support 


• Help project manage large multi-dimensional initiatives


• Provide general support the Defined Contribution sales process

• Similar experience in institutional product strategy and distribution


• DC knowledge and experience strongly preferred


• Track record of intellectual curiosity, i.e. a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and adapt knowledge base


• Self-starter that will excel and thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial team environment


• Ability to multitask and prioritize, project management skills


• Experience in building strong internal and external relationships


• CFA designation, or progress toward CFA designation desired


• Team player


• Excellent analytical capabilities.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and sales skills
