Chronus Capital, a New York-based boutique emerging markets investment bank is looking to hire a full-time analyst for its New York office. Candidates need to have a strong aptitude for qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as a strong interest in the emerging markets, particularly Russia and the former Soviet Union. Currently, the Chronus team is involved extensively in executing M&A and capital-raising transactions in Central Asia, a dynamic and fast-paced sub-region of the CIS. Analysts will be expected to support the senior team members by researching and analyzing macroeconomic and industry specific conditions and trends; performing and engaging in due diligence; and creating research reports, investment memorandums, and other presentation materials. Analysts will also be involved in all aspects of the business development process from assisting in the preparation of pitch books to win new business engagements to prescreening investors for specific investment opportunities. In addition, Analysts will be an integral part of all deal teams and will attend as many internal and client meetings as appropriate. Qualification: Chronus is seeking a candidate who possesses fluency in Russian, both verbal and written (please note this is a categorical requirement), and also meets the profile outlined below. The candidate is an exceptionally motivated individual who is distinguished by his academic achievements, extracurricular activities and prior work experience. Analysts should have very strong financial modeling and company valuation skills. As well, they should possess strong quantitative, communication and interpersonal abilities, be highly detail oriented and have a relentless drive to succeed. We particularly seek individuals with superb writing, researching and presentation abilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with working in a highly entrepreneurial and independent environment with loosely structured teams. As well, the candidate should exhibit a passion for learning about the emerging markets. We very strongly prefer candidates with full-time work experience at a boutique or bulge-bracket investment bank or a similar finance capacity with a corporation (at least two years).
