The candidate will have worked on several enterprise strength applications within a structured development environment, adhering to and promoting standards and procedures. A thorough understanding of systems analysis and design methodology will be necessary as will an experience of working across all aspects of the project management life cycle, deploying bespoke systems and commercial-of-the-shelf packaged software solutions.
The successful applicant will be required to communicate effectively with other business analysts and project managers, training analysts and technical development staff, as well as produce high quality business/user documentation. The ability to chair project meetings and present their ideas to key stakeholders within the business is also essential to this role. Strong financial services/investment management knowledge is required.
Responsibilities
Managing development projects, analysing and designing solutions for the ‘Front Office’ business areas.
Managing project resources, preparing project plans and meeting project timescales within budget and to the agreed level of quality.
Producing analysis documentation clarifying business requirements and providing clear rationale for development projects, including feasibility study, security/risk assessment and cost/benefit analysis.
Interacting with users at all levels to accurately determine business requirements.
Recommending appropriate business and technical solutions. Producing high quality business/user documentation.
Following application development procedures and adhering standards.
Contributing to and maintaining development policies and procedures documentation.
Maintaining positive and effective relations with business representatives and members of the IT team.
Key Requirements
Understanding of and involvement in the entire application development lifecycle.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Experience of working with ‘Front Office’ user teams.
Able to work to tight timescales in a controlled manner.
Quantative financial understanding and knowledge required. Ideally IMC qualified (or studying for).
Working knowledge of SQL and relational database design and experience of C#/.Net GUI design.
Experience of working within a structured environment (e.g. Prince2).
Experience of Microsoft Project; Powerpoint and Word essential.
