Job Summary To contribute to the success of the RBC Dexia IS Trust business by performing the research, analysis, design and implementation of IT projects in order to enhance competitive edge or reduce costs. To support and maintain the various systems and ensure maximum availability for the business users.
ResponsibilitiesPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESSystem DevelopmentAssist in the preparation of functional and technical specifications including detailed research of report, file and software changes.Write system design and software specifications to documented standards Design and code system solutions to satisfy business requirements, to documented standards.Maintain and enhance existing software, where necessary integrating in-house software solutions with those supplied by 3rd parties.Develop unit, integration and system test documentation, and data and execute test plans, verifying results against expectations.Support User acceptance testing and verification.Take direction from the Project Managers at a project level.Work closely with the Project Managers and ensure that they are fully appraised of the project progress.Production SupportProvide third and final level production support on a 24-hour basis, as dictated by the needs of the business.Participate in an on-call rota to provide out of hours support as requiredInvestigate and resolve production problems.Assist with the investigation and testing of changes caused by product change (e.g. new release).
The IndividualEssential? Solid knowledge and experience of Visual Basic, SQL, Database Management.? Good knowledge of Oracle (9i, 10i), SQL Server (7, 2000). ? Detailed knowledge and experience of MS Access? Knowledge of Data warehouse and Data mart principles ? Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word).Desirable? Financial Services background desirable but not essential? Any of the following skills will be an advantage: Knowledge of PL/SQL, Crystal reports, Business Objects, MEGA, Ruby , HTML, CSS, XML
