As part of the continued expansion of our international operations, we are currently seeking to hire an experienced fixed income professional to join our London office as an Investment Director, within the Fixed Income Product Management Group. Working as a senior member of a well established team, this individual will opearate as a local fixed income representative, with close ties to the firm's investment teams.
He/she will be responsible for exercising business leadership through the development and promotion of the local fixed income agenda, for recommending fees, developing local investment vehicles, determining competitive landscape, for new product development, and for partnering with other functional areas such as Legal, Compliance, Client Administration.
He/she will work closely with the EMEA Business Development and Relationship Management teams to develop and maintain marketing and client service materials for new and existing fixed income portfolios. He/she will represent Portfolio Managers at client meetings and new business finals presentations, and will play an important role in establishing and enhancing working relationships with investment consultants.
As part of the London office, the appointee will:
* Provide investment, product and market training to internal and external audiences;
* Conduct and communicate the necessary quantitative analysis of risk, performance and portfolio characteristics across bond portfolios;
* Assist in the development of junior team members;
* Work closely with the Marketing Information group to ensure the timely and accurate completion of fixed income RFPs and RFIs, and to develop and improve marketing materials.
The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of fixed income investing gained from significant (8+ years) experience in institutional investment management, consulting and/or marketing, preferably in the continental European institutional/sub-advisory market. The successful candidate will have a strong background in macroeconomics, a deep understanding of fixed income capital market theory and practice, as well as excellent quantitative, written and oral communication skills. Creativity, thoroughness, and attention to detail are all essential traits, as are high energy and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. A CFA and an advanced degree in a related discipline are strongly preferred, as are European language skills. This position will require considerable travel and may include an initial period of time in Boston.
