Standish Mellon Asset Management is seeking a Senior Developer who will provide technology solutions for several fixed income areas including quantitative research, trading and portfolio analysis groups.
The position will report to the IT project manager responsible for these areas. Responsibilities include analysis, design, and development of applications used by the fixed income groups. The application environment includes web based and desktop solutions for quantitative information analysis, business intelligence and reporting as well as data integration from multiple platforms. The developer will have the opportunity to work directly with business users in delivering full life cycle application solutions from concept to completion. This role also includes support for current fixed income reporting/analysis applications. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can be a positive contributor in a team environment. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft technology and a strong desire to implement functional solutions to meet the needs of a growing and evolving business environment. Ideal requirements: 7+ years of IT related business experience in the investment/securities industry with specific experience dealing with fixed income securities. Working knowledge of distributed applications including multiple areas in the following: .Net (C#), Visual Basic 6.0, SQL, SQL Server (2000 and 2005), Business Intelligence Tools (Analysis Services, Business Scorecard, Proclarity), SSIS, Reporting Tools (Crystal Reports, Business Objects, and MS Reporting Services), SharePoint Services, Microsoft Access, ASP, ASP.Net, COM and Windows 2000/XP/200, Microsoft Team Foundation Server. XML and messaging related experience a plus. A strong business perspective and knowledge of leading practices in the effective development and implementation of information technology within the investment/securities industry. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks. Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills with a detail oriented mindset. BA/BS in Computer Science/Business or related area.
