Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Chief Executive Officer in the development of the Company's strategic vision/planning, while providing financial advice and counsel on day-to-day operating issues.
  • Manage corporate finance, banking and investor relationships.
  • Implement and refine risk management, cash management and financial reporting programs.
  • Provide operational insight for the company, thus allowing the executive team to better understand and manage the business.
  • Prepare short-term, quarterly and annual operating plans and look to move the business forward and add shareholder value.
  • Preparation of rolling 13-week cash flow projections.
  • Lead implementation of cost accounting projects.
  • Monitor internal/external conditions and trends and appraise the effects of the economy on the organization's opportunities.
  • Ownership of working capital position, and driving down of existing inventory levels.
  • Manage capital budgeting and financial planning processes to ensure they are linked with corporate strategy and overall business goals.
  • Oversight of daily borrowing base, creation of forecast of borrowings/pay-downs.
  • Integration of current financial projections from Excel spreadsheets into existing MRP system.
  • Help lead and drive acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Aggressively develop and monitor benchmarks and metrics; be key leader in search for improvements within the Company's operations through use of financial indicators.
  • Work with the Board of Directors in effectively assisting in financial matters, i.e., budget, long range planning, strategy, etc.
  • Prepare and issue monthly financial and operational reports for the executive team. Identify key cost drivers and solutions related to the company's performance which represent deviations from budget, prior year or attainable levels.
  • Quickly grasp cost structure and the competitive pressures in the areas of cost, quality and delivery.
  • Assist production control and procurement in the timely acquisition of raw material.
  • Develop/mentor accounting staff members to further strengthen the Company's structure/foundation.
  • Will require the hiring of additional finance staff, perhaps the termination of existing staff.
  • Benevolent sponsor involved; willing to commit capital in order to grow the business.

    Qualifications
  • Experience as a CFO or lead finance manager within a manufacturing/operations environment.
  • Experience in CPG manufacturing a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; MBA with an emphasis on Finance is desired.
  • CPA certification desired.
  • A demonstrated ability to scope, plan and administer projects of high complexity.
  • Should possess experience in establishing business intelligence/reporting systems such as customer/product profitability reports and have a measurable history of reducing costs.
  • Ideally, will have participated in economic analysis and due diligence for acquisitions, feasibility studies for new business strategies, budgeting and capital markets.
