Murex Project Manager To manage projects and initiatives in and around Murex Equities & Murex Currency platforms employed within prestigious city Investment Bank. Projects will deliver extended functionality and enhancements as requested by Trading, Risk, Operations and Finance.
This is an ideal role for a chalenge-hungry individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan implement and monitor projects including the identification of adequate resources both physical and human
  • Develop project budgets and support the approval of said budgets
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with key clientele in the FO and various support departments
  • Provide tactical solutions to support ongoing needs of various business areas
  • Identify strategic goals and support overall strategic planning
  • Support the overall head of the Murex area in initiation of projects and management of Murex related initiatives
  • To provide management reporting regarding projects, budgets, staff, issues and escalations
  • To support the development of the team and ensure on an ongoing basis adequate skills and capabilities are retained and developed
  • Day to day management of the project(s) team(s)


Mandatory skills/characteristics:
  • Strong proven IT management capabilities. Will have lead projects of up to 10 resources including full delivery and budgetary responsibility
  • Strong IT background in Trading/Risk systems, with detailed knowledge of Murex
  • Good understanding of the technologies used within Murex applications including MxML, MDCS, MxViewer, PLExplain, DataMart/Actuate, Flex
  • Strong derivatives product knowledge, (preferably Equity Derivatives and FX Derivatives), this will include an understanding of vanilla, barrier and structured OTC options
  • Good communicator on all levels
  • Capable “portfolio manager”, managing a number of initiatives simultaneously in an efficient manner

The nature of the role will also require some European travel or possibly other locations as necessary.
